Q1: What is an election? What type of election do we have in New Zealand?
As New Zealand citizen's, we have a general election every 3 years determining the future prime minister for New Zealand.
Q2: Why do we have elections in New Zealand?
To give the public and media a voice in New Zealand's future and choosing who they believe will have a better and positive impact on our country.
Q3: What happens during an election?
The citizens and residents of New Zealand cast a vote on their believes, based on what the parties have stated and promised for NZ. You vote on a ticket for ONE party and place yoyr ticket in the polling booth and hope for the best.
Q4: What do you think would happen if we did not have elections and people did not vote?
There could be uprisings and very strong disagreements because our country wouldn't have a choice or say in what happens to them and their future.
Q5: Who is the Prime Minister of New Zealand? How did he become the prime minister?
The prime minister is Bill English and he is in this position because John Key was elected almost 3 years ago for the second time, but resigned late last year, leaving Bill English as the deputy to be prime minister.
Q6: Why do you think it is important that people vote in elections?
So if they believe someone should be elected, they can at least have a say, because one vote could be all it takes to elect someone.
Q7: If you became Prime Minister what is the first thing you would change?
I believe euthanasia should be legalised because it can put someone out of their pain. I also believe that you must be family to do this so no random person is killing a dying resident and you need hard proof this oerson has asked to die on your accord.
Q8: How do you think our government can make New Zealand ‘more awesome’ like the Kid President?
I think the government should listen to children more as it is proved children are more creative as preteens-teens and have better ideas and are probabaly more open to listening to others. They are also learning about their future so why should someone else determine it?
Q9: What do you think the Prime Minister’s main job is during the day?
I think Bill English is always working on something leading up to what we see of him in interviews and his speeches and never really stops being New Zealand's prime minster.
